Happies

*Alex's sense of humor: I caught her hitting Carson in the stomach with her magic wand. She is never rough with him so I was shocked. I asked her why she was hitting her brother and she says, "Momma, I was trying to "bing" him into a baby sister." Hahahaha! I LOVE her! She makes me laugh constantly.
*Honey. It's one of my favorite things and I consume it daily. Just had some on toast with peanut butter for breakfast.
*Dark Chocolate. Not the milk chocolate...we are talking the REAL love. 70% or higher. When I need a pick-me-up, dark chocolate is the answer.
*MaxGXL. New supplement I am taking. It ROCKS!!!
*The moon. Alex and I have been sitting outside on the patio at night and I have been teaching her about the moon. I think she is as enamored by it as I am.
*Medicine & Miracles-- thank you God.. Granddam is alive and well. She is no longer intubated and is out of ICU. When she came to and asked how long she has been in the hospital, we told her 11 days. She said "Well, sh*t!" Hahaha...she's back :) Thank you for your prayers! Having my Granddam is the biggest HAPPY I can think of!

Alex's 4th Birthday: Blue Bash

This post is a little out of sequence since my baby boy figured out a way to post on our blog. The tech genes are already surfacing. He is a mess!
---
On our drive home from preschool one day, I asked Alex if she knew what kind of party she wanted for her birthday this year. She is so into Disney Princesses and birds that I was surprised when she said she wanted a blue birthday party. Hmm...a blue party?! We started talking about it and I decided, why not! When is the next time she will want a blue party? So adorable!
The big blue birthday became THE topic of conversation for weeks leading up to the big day. She was so excited and I loved having a bargaining chip to use for moments I needed her to obey. We had the party at a place called Going Bonkers. It's the perfect name to describe it...total chaos! It is such a fun place to play and we hoped everyone would love it as much as we do. We spend a lot of our rainy days at Going Bonkers.
She had a great turnout. 16 of Alex's friends came (we missed several of you though), family from both sides, church friends and even her preschool teacher, Mrs. Amanda came.
You will see from the pictures that Alex was in heaven! I will never forget what she looked like that day. I don't think we could have asked for a better time!

We tried to get a good fam pic...this is the best one...and so us!

I can't believe we don't have any pictures of her climbing through the massive play gym. Oh well, the other 320 pictures will just have to suffice. This last picture is going to get me in trouble, so I am asking for forgiveness rather than permission. When we got home from the party we were all DONE. Exhausted. I asked Nathan to swaddle Carson and put him down for a nap while Deb and I got the presents situated. After several minutes we could hear Carson talking in bed. So, I peeked my head in to see what was going on. I found Carson just laying in his crib (no swaddle) looking around and talking to the wall and found Nathan like this:

HAHAHA!!!! It took everyone a few days to recover. Thanks to all for making this such a special day for our family!

HELP ME!!! (by Carson Darby)

Hey, this is Carson. You know, Alex's baby brother. Well I'm sure you've all heard about the blue birthday party. My mom can tell the rest of the story, but I wanted to be sure and let you all see what torture I had to endure on this "diva day." UGH! Apparently, there is a multi-step process in becoming a blue party princess. Let me share this ridiculousness with you so you can empathize.
Step 1: Nail Day. Good times. I got drug along to some nail salon just to watch my sis get her nails and toes painted. Is this really necessary? All the ladies in the salon were telling Alex how cute she was and how special it was to get her first mani/pedi. GAG!
Step 2: The dressing process. This is apparently done in several stages. Here is a pic of sis getting dressed. Out of control. Notice the blue hair. Is that necessary? I personally think that is a bit over the top, but no one asked for my opinion.
Step 3: Unlocking the inner diva. The pictures say it all.
Seriously??
Step 4: Running around the house like a hot mess, showing off to everyone.
She called this thing around her waist a "toot." I'm so sure...everyone knows it's a TUTU! How old is she? Sigh.
Does she think she is a supermodel? Check out that face!
Step 5: Rubbing it in my face. You can see in this picture that she is driving me nuts! I have to sit by her in the car. The whole way to the party all I heard was "I'm 4, I'm 4...I'm the blue princess today."
I know I am being a bit harsh, but you just have to understand how it really is from my perspective. This is MY photo telling you how I feel about all this hoopla.
Peace out,
Carson (the outnumbered male with no chance of a normal life....come save me!!!!)

Thank you for blessings beyond measure...

The picture says it all...I adore these two little ones!! My kiddos help keep things in perspective. And, thank you Mr. Carson-- 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep! 2 nights in a row!!
