Easter Pictures

I took the kids for Easter photos on Good Friday. They did SO great! We were in & out in 10 minutes. Carson's shots were so easy because all Alex had to do was look at him and he was grinning from ear-to-ear. Alex just needed the token ice cream bribe. Mommy is happy!! Every time I look at these, I just melt.
Alex: 4 years old
Carson: 7 months old

This one is my favorite!

Happy Easter, 2009

Fireproof

We watched Fireproof last night (better late than never). If you haven't seen it with your spouse, we highly recommend it!
The acting on a scale of 1-10 (10 being amazing, 1 terrible)....is only a 2. It's very low-budget, and the acting is pretty over the top. The message, however, is a 15 out of 10!
So, if you can look beyond the production value and acting and watch it for the message, your marriage will be enriched!
PS- Nathan, I. LOVE. YOU.

Happies

*Jack "frickin" Bauer. He will never die.
*Yogurtville. My new obsession. It's a frozen yogurt paradise. Because my diet is so limited, we have been frequenting the y-ville pretty regularly. Of course I have to get kiwi-strawberry sorbet, but who cares!! It's love! You can see how happy Alex is too :)

*Sleeping thru the night-- I really, really think we are finally there. 2 nights in a row now!!
*Kings of Leon...love their tunes. Check out "Use somebody." Also, Ray LaMontagne's "You Are The Best Thing" and "I Still Care For You." His entire Gossip in the Grain album is amazing.
*Peeps. No explanation required.
*My cute, handsome, adorable, crazy little man!!

Funny girl, funny girl...

We were in Little Rock all last week for Spring Break while Nathan worked in Modesto, CA. I'll post pics soon, but wanted to share a quick Alex funny.
When we crossed over the Rockwall Lake on our way out of Dallas, Alex shouts, "mommy look, there is Jesus walking on the water." I cracked up and looked around to try to see what she was talking about and the only thing I could see was a boat pulling a water skier.
Not even a minute later I hear, "momma, look it's another Jesus over there."
HAHAHA!!! Those Sunday school lessons are really paying off.

Spring pictures at Wye Mountain

While Nathan traveled to Modesto, I loaded up the family and headed to Little Rock for Spring Break. We had such a great visit with Pops & DeDe. The weather was perfect and the kids were such a delight (even after 7 hours in the car with the dogs). One of my favorite Darby traditions is to go to Wye Mountain and take pictures in the jonquils.
The jonquils were gorgeous and the kids had a blast. I will never forget the memories of watching Alex run through the flowers. She was in heaven. She loved the freedom and giggled and squealed. She played with her dress, smelled the flowers and sang as she ran through the fields of flowers. Carson just tried to hang tough, bless his heart. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it all, but he did try to grab several of the jonquils.
There is a beautiful cross in the middle of the mountain that is an awesome representation of why we celebrate Easter.
Here are a few photos from our day.
