Devastation

I have been waiting for this day to happen...
Yes, that's our girl after her own haircut. Ahh! She was trying to get the hairband out on her own and I always use scissors to cut the plastic bands out. Being the independent girl she is, I hear "help, the scissors are stuck in my hair." WHAT?! I bolted into the playroom and started pulling out handfuls of hair. I could not believe it.
Fortunately, the damage is minimal. I should be able to cover it up entirely. Ponytails may be out for a while, since she now has a substantial cowlick sticking out of her head ;) The good news is, she absolutely realized how bad of a choice this is and started hysterically crying saying, "my beautiful princess hair is GONE. It's never coming back. I ruined it all. It's all my fault. Mommy, go shopping and buy some more. Daddy, fix it!" Once we explained that there is nothing we can do but wait for the hair to grow back-- more hysteria ensued. By the time she settled down, she promised she will never do this again. If this is our one and only encounter with self grooming gone bad, we got off easy. I am not holding my breath though. At least it was an accident and not intentional. Girls. Sigh. Thank goodness our family pictures were taken yesterday.
Devastated diva.
