Carson month 6: February 2 - March 2

We saw so many changes in our little man from month 5 to 6. He is really becoming his own person. As you will see from the pictures, he is just SO happy all the time. If I could translate his babble, I think it would say "Hiiieeee everyone! I'm just soooo happy to be here!" He is joy in the purest form. To hear him fuss or cry is an ordeal. Everyone stops and runs to him at the slightest whimper because he never fusses; so when he does, you know it must be for something serious!
Carson is such an animated little guy. He has the best facial expressions ever.
This month, he is really starting to teethe. He is breaking the gums on his bottom left side and working on one tooth upstairs as well. OUCH! Alex was the toothless wonder and finally got her first tooth at 15 months, so this is quite different from his sista. Carson is also extremely interactive now, which is so much fun. He is no longer "the blob" as we say. Now, he will play motorboat with us back and forth and he will mimic our facial expressions and stick his tongue out in response to us. It's great! We also think he is going to be a lefty. He strongly favors his left hand. My mom is a lefty and so is one of my nephews. I know it is early to predict, but I am certain he will be left-handed. Man, he is getting a ton of hair too! It comes in sticking straight up (just like his daddy-hehe). It's dark brown just like dad's too. He is becoming so handsome. He has a dimple on his left side like daddy too. No wonder he is stealing my heart.
People are starting to call him "baby Nathan." I love that he is looking more and more like his daddy. He will be a heart breaker for sure! In other news, he has most certainly discovered his "business" and thinks it's SO fun to play with. AHHH! I have the best picture that I wish I could share...let's just say he is all boy!!!
His favorite activity is to play in the Exersaucer and he is able to spin all around and use each toy now, so it's great to watch. He is so proud of himself and loves to tell us all about his latest accomplishments. He is sitting up well on his own now too. Here are a few pictures:

He is all smiles
Carson loves his BeBe pod and will sit up and play in it for 15 minutes at a time

Tummy time is always a blast
He loves his activity mat and especially enjoys checking himself out in the mirror
Good times in the Exersaucer
I ADORE his crooked smile. Check out the hair sticking straight up too.
Alex is the best big sis and loves to help with bath time

Happy Birthday Mom & Dad (and Uncle Stuart!)

We celebrated March birthdays with a big party at my parent's house this weekend. It is pretty special that Sherree, Blake, and Stuart all share the same birthday week. Stuart's is March 4, Sherree's is March 7, and Blake's is March 11. It's been a long time since our entire family got together, so it was awesome to just hang out and play. My parents live on 2 acres and it is beautiful. There is so much nature out in the boons! The guys played horseshoes and cooked out. The girls ran after the kids and talked, and talked and...talked (typical). Alex and Thomas were so cute! They played together the entire time and never got sick and tired of one another. They really were on their own, which was great! We all just sat back and watched. Carson and Natalee (the babies) held their own too. Nikki practiced her cheers and gymnastics for us. Timothy teamed up with Blake for a great game of horseshoes. A great time was had by all! I love you mom and dad-- y'all are the best parents a daughter could ask for!

At the end of the night, Alex was DONE. YaYa tickled Alex to sleep and once she was down, N8 and I stayed up and hung out with just my parents. We had a blast catching up. I am so thankful to have my entire family in the D/FW area. I can't imagine it any other way. The only thing that was missing was our Granddam :( We miss you Granddam and next time you WILL be here to celebrate with us! Get well!

Tiff's Baby Shower

We threw a baby shower for Tiffany (Lewis) Cason last weekend and it was so much fun! Tiff is expecting a baby girl (currently named Baby Boomerang...GET A NAME-hehe).
It was a great time and so much fun to catch up with all of the girls. A memory I'll never forget...having a pumping party with Jennie and Ebes. So glad we are all moms now and I'm not the only pumper! Tiff is the loudest, cutest, most fun girl. I wish we could be a fly on the wall watching Tiff and Ron as parents. I know there will be so much laughter and love. Can't wait to meet you baby girl!

DeDe's visit

The next few posts will be out of sequence, because I am behind.
DeDe (Nathan's mom) came to visit the week of Alex's birthday. Nathan was traveling, so it was wonderful to have the extra hands and help! Here are a few pics from her visit. Most of them are of the birthday, but I just had to throw in a few extra of the kids too. Isn't she the coolest mother-in-love?!? A granny that plays Rock Band is a keeper for sure! I hope to be half as cool as her when I grow up :) And, she is 11 years and 4 months CANCER FREE! Thank you God!

Heart of Gold

This made my day-- received this email from Alex's preschool teacher yesterday:
"I was having the worst day ever, and while the class was working at their tables, I was sitting at my desk filling out papers and Alex came over to me out of nowhere and she gave me the biggest hug ever and then took my face in her hands and said, " I love you Ms. Amanda, you need a hug." I just squeezed her so tight and thanked God for her and her sweetness. It made me feel so much better. If she only knew how much I needed that. What a blessing!"

My baby is 6 months old...

What in the world? He can't be 6 months old already...wow! I can't believe we've survived! I love his facial expressions. He IS happiness.

Carson Kyle, you are everything to me!

Happies

*Alex's sense of humor: I caught her hitting Carson in the stomach with her magic wand. She is never rough with him so I was shocked. I asked her why she was hitting her brother and she says, "Momma, I was trying to "bing" him into a baby sister." Hahahaha! I LOVE her! She makes me laugh constantly.
*Honey. It's one of my favorite things and I consume it daily. Just had some on toast with peanut butter for breakfast.
*Dark Chocolate. Not the milk chocolate...we are talking the REAL love. 70% or higher. When I need a pick-me-up, dark chocolate is the answer.
*MaxGXL. New supplement I am taking. It ROCKS!!!
*The moon. Alex and I have been sitting outside on the patio at night and I have been teaching her about the moon. I think she is as enamored by it as I am.
*Medicine & Miracles-- thank you God.. Granddam is alive and well. She is no longer intubated and is out of ICU. When she came to and asked how long she has been in the hospital, we told her 11 days. She said "Well, sh*t!" Hahaha...she's back :) Thank you for your prayers! Having my Granddam is the biggest HAPPY I can think of!
