Carson month 7: March 2 - April 2 (very behind on posting this)

Carson's had several big accomplishments during his 6th to 7th month. The biggest milestone is sitting up independently. He's been able to sit up on his own, but now he can sit and play for 15-20 minutes without falling over. This has made playtime with Alex much more fun because now she can hand him toys, sit with him and interact.
He is really becoming a talker too! He can say "mama" "yayayaya" "bababa" and "oowww"-- of course my favorite is mama! He is so proud of his speaking abilities. He gives the biggest grin when he is babbling.
He's also REALLY trying to crawl. If I would actually encourage this activity (LOL), I'm sure he would already be all over the place. He is rocking on his hands and knees and scooting, so it will be anytime now.
His favorite activity is jumping! The jumparoo is his favorite by a mile. The over-the-door jumpy seat is a lifesaver too. I think he could jump all day long and never get tired of it. He is a maniac! He must be gearing up for walking...if you saw the size of his thighs, you would know what I mean. The boy has his daddy's legs fo' sho!!
Of course, bath time is still a favorite, but now he can actually grab at the water and giggles like crazy the whole time. He also thinks it's hilarious to grab my hair or grab Emmy and Macy. As usual, Macy is a trooper. Emmy is actually quite patient with him too. So far so good!
Another big change is the amount of hair on our little man's head. Wow, his hair is growing like a weed. We've been creating mohawks during bath time. We will be using product before you know it- haha!
We've tried solids a few times, but Carson and I are still very much on the milk marathon :) I am still 100% nursing. His tummy still seems to hurt when I introduce anything new. I've tried: oatmeal (NOT OK!), applesauce, sweet potatoes, peas and avocado. The pediatrician said that there is nothing more nutritious than breastmilk, so we are staying the course. I do hope that he will be able to start eating solids soon b/c when he watches us eat I can tell he really wants to try it all!
He is doing great with the sippy cup. I only give him water, but you will see below he can already hold it and drink from it independently. He makes a huge mess, but it's so cute to watch.

His most recent stats:
Weight: 17 lbs, 10 oz (only 30th percentile..crazy)
Height: 27.5 inches (63rd percentile)
Head circumference: 18.84 cm (84th percentile) haha!! He was only in the 10th percentile when he was born so this proves how unreliable the stats are. He DOES have a big ole noggin though :)

Here are some highlights from our month:

Pops came to visit for the week and we went to the park. Alex gives this a thumbs up.

Carson and Pops were so cute together

Check out his sippy cup skills!!! Impressive!
He's about got it mastered...

All smiles as usual

I love this pic of him. SO happy and adorable!

I know I am beginning to sound like a broken record, but he is seriously the most content, precious, fun, good baby I've ever met. I am more in love each and every day!

Alex's "Gauin hedin a bug" Song

Wow, we've been blogging a lot today. Scroll down as there are several entries. We saved the best for last...here is Alex's song she's been practicing for pre-school graduation. We were right in the middle of our Easter egg hunt when she just busted out into song. It was too cute, we had to share. You will see that we've discovered Alex's passion at an early age :) Note her virbrato and tone...not bad for a 4 year old!

Carson's Easter Pics

Here ya go Aunt Onnie :)
And, thank you Kristi for the adorable outfit!

I love this profile shot b/c he looks just like his daddy

He loves his fingers
And love his toes especially
Sweet boy!

Easter Saturday

We decided to celebrate Easter on Saturday night because we knew storms were headed to D/FW on Sunday morning. I'm glad we did, the weather was gorgeous! My dad (B.B.) joined us for church and dinner. YaYa had to work (we missed you SO much)! Carson was sleeping so he missed out on the photo op.

Easter Pictures

I took the kids for Easter photos on Good Friday. They did SO great! We were in & out in 10 minutes. Carson's shots were so easy because all Alex had to do was look at him and he was grinning from ear-to-ear. Alex just needed the token ice cream bribe. Mommy is happy!! Every time I look at these, I just melt.
Alex: 4 years old
Carson: 7 months old

This one is my favorite!

Happy Easter, 2009

Fireproof

We watched Fireproof last night (better late than never). If you haven't seen it with your spouse, we highly recommend it!
The acting on a scale of 1-10 (10 being amazing, 1 terrible)....is only a 2. It's very low-budget, and the acting is pretty over the top. The message, however, is a 15 out of 10!
So, if you can look beyond the production value and acting and watch it for the message, your marriage will be enriched!
PS- Nathan, I. LOVE. YOU.

Happies

*Jack "frickin" Bauer. He will never die.
*Yogurtville. My new obsession. It's a frozen yogurt paradise. Because my diet is so limited, we have been frequenting the y-ville pretty regularly. Of course I have to get kiwi-strawberry sorbet, but who cares!! It's love! You can see how happy Alex is too :)

*Sleeping thru the night-- I really, really think we are finally there. 2 nights in a row now!!
*Kings of Leon...love their tunes. Check out "Use somebody." Also, Ray LaMontagne's "You Are The Best Thing" and "I Still Care For You." His entire Gossip in the Grain album is amazing.
*Peeps. No explanation required.
*My cute, handsome, adorable, crazy little man!!
